I have lived in Germany for over 30 years. My journey of emancipation started very early as I moved with my family from Egypt to Germany. I faced a foreign culture and had to learn how to deal with the built-in-oppression inside myself in a free society. I found out that many women had a similar experience even though they were growing up in a western society. So I started a coaching trainee 7 years ago in Psychosynthesis which is a depth analysis approach. I got involved from the very beginning in the research of CFE model. I believe that coaching is a powerful emancipatory tool that should be used to induce social change. In 2012 I started to study art therapy because I believe that Art is crucial for human development and personal growth.
My Coaching Approach is art oriented. I believe that the coaching journey is a process that is very similar to the process an artist goes through to bring out the Beauty, the Truth and the Good. The moments of crisis may be painful but necessary for the result. In every moment there are decisions to be taken and uncertainty to overcome. Sometimes we feel darkness and confusion and the presence of a coach to challenge our thoughts and believes in different ways can be very helpful to get through and find our voice. Training our perception to see beauty, truth and grace inside of us is part of the process. Managing our beliefs, getting rid of some old luggage and taking action to start the change belongs to the process as well. Emancipatory coaching is a relation that challenge both coach and coachee … it addresses the human in us.
